What it's built for
Where the EP fits
Light cutting in a tight envelope
The smallest ½" lateral platform, 1 to 10.3 kW across EP 09 to EP 16, for heads where space is tight and the cut does not need EFL power. Right-size the spindle to the duty instead of carrying capacity that never gets used.
Through-tool water on an air-cooled body
The bored shaft passes coolant through the tool as standard, even though the motor itself is air cooled. A compact spindle can wet-cut at the edge where the process needs it, with no cooling circuit to plumb or maintain for the motor.
Already running ½" tooling
Shares the ½" tool interface with the EFL family, so if your head and tooling are already built for ½", the EP drops in for lighter operations without retooling, and steps up to EFL where the cut passes 10 kW.
Need sustained duty or a full cooling circuit on the same compact body? EP S adds servo-ventilation and EP 11-RA adds water cooling, both on the ½" mount. Use the motor selector to compare.
